Hold on loosely

I've been all around this city and I've seen good loving gone bad.  Not just romance gone stale and tasteless through endless repetition, but some really toxic seeming relationships that appear to be more trouble than they're worth.  I've seem puppy love that already has an expiration stamped on it in Allston and I've seen hook ups of convenience on Mission Hill.

I've seen good loving gone right in East Boston, neighborhood of large families.  Regular readers know where this is heading so I'll cut to the chase...I've seen it in Dorchester, too.

I was hanging around Shawmut station counting the raindrops and it struck me that I didn't see one unhappy couple either walking in or walking out, and it was fairly busy.  Though the weather is unpleasant this rainy day, everyone's mood was pleasant and none were more cheerful than Dorchester's lovers, old and young, male and female, black or white, in any combination of these traits.

Ah, Dorchester.  Forever the metaphor for the good life.  Loose with its judgements and hanging tightly to its idea of the good life.  What is the good life in Dot?  Spending time with the one you love.

Ah, Dorchester.  If the cloud cover happens to break tonight, you'll see its a full moon.  When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie: that's Dorchester.
